Okay so theres this horrible mouse living under my sink, and it keeps chewing through the water lines, and dishwasher lines....is there anything I can spray on the lines to keep mice from chewing? I put out bait and traps, but in case they come back, I need them to not chew up my house anymore

I have personal clothing, bedding, kitchen items, children used toys, etc., that sure wish to try to sell some, because i have donate many things already latelly. I wonder if there are people who often do garage sales, that we could take our stuff to them, and they would sell them for a percentage of the sale. I live in Houston, around FM 1960 west. thanks

Last summer we had these neighbors move in next door and they are huge slobs! They tore down a shed and left all the wood and crap laying in their yard and they had a pile of boxes everywhere. Ever since then we have had rats, mice, and roaches in our brand new house. You think that is what caused the infestation? Should I tell their landlord? It is a huge health hazard and I have small children. I want to get rid of them. I tried glue traps, poison, plug holes with steel wool. Nothing seems to work. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks!

So, my basement has flooded twice in the last two years. This last time, i had two inches of water. The basement is fully furnished, we have a drain that is outside our basement door but it goes straight into the ground, it doesn't connect with any drains. I need a simple soulution to this huge problem. I've been hearing about French Drains but everything i've looked up on the internet on French Drains doesn't say where the water goes. Does there need to be an outlet? How does the water get into the pipe that is in the ground? I hate being so naive about this but I really have never heard or know how they work....

I was wondering if anyone had a link to a study done on the cost of heating a home versus the temperature set at when no one is home.

Basically I am wondering if it is more efficient to turn the heat way down (about 55 F) when I am not home and set the timer for just before I get home to re-heat the house. On the other hand, is it worth it since the heater has to work so much harder to bring the temp back up to 68, rather than bringing it back up from say 62.

I know everyone seems to have their own opinion on this, but I was hoping for some kind of at least pseudo-scientific study on this. I haven't been able to find one anywhere!

I'm currently living in a student house with 5 other people, and we're due to get our first electricity bill through any day now, people have asked if i could pay more towards the bill as i have used the tumble dryer a few times, where as everyone else has only used it a couple of times- fair enough. But i was wondering if anyone knew roughly how much it costs to put a tumble dryer on for approx 80 mins, as i don't want them to try and fob most of the bill off on me and rip me off!

thank you!

You know how you can buy slushies etc from places... well I am looking for one that I can use at home...
I live in South Australia and I have't been able to find one.
Perhaps I'm just not looking in the right places.
Any info would be great.

hugs.

The pipes are starting to rattle - and they are starting to sound like bubbling water.

Do I need to drain the pipes?

If so, how do I refill them?

Thanks!

Okay, so my friend lives in a trailer and he has been having a bad mouse problem. He said the traps aren't working and I'd like the most humane ways to get rid of and prevent the problems. Any ideas on mouse removal?
THANKS to all who respond!

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Our house is on a position that gets more sun in the back and not in the front so that means snow turns into ice quickly especially if it's very cold out. I heard rock/sand salt is the best to use, but where can I purchase this? It's very hard to find. Should I use rock/sand salt before a snowfall or after I use my shovel or use my snowblower to avoid having so much ice in our driveway?
