OK, this I know!
An exterminator has limits on the strength of spray they can use. You're better off mixing your own. You can keep them from staying alive once they get into your house even though you may not be able to keep them out entirely.
The BEST spray I found is "Suspend SC" It has Deltamethrin 4.75%.
A pint costs about $70 but .75 ounces mixed with a gallon of water lasts a long time so the bottle will last a couple years even if you spray every 4 weeks around the baseboards, doors and windows. You will start to see dead scorps as well as dead crickets (food for scorps).
Yes, Scorps love palms, especially Queen Anne palms - the bark is what they like. Therefore, the little brown ones are called "Bark Scorpians".
If you are in Phoenix, you can find the Suspend in the Weed and Pest stores. I imagine they have stores like that everywhere.
Don't get me started on Pigeons!!!
Good luck!

I lived in Phoenix AZ years ago. I had alot of trouble with scorpions, seemed like everywhere I lived. The answer to your question is YES, they do live in palm trees, they also live in the pine trees. Don't walk under the trees in the summer, they might drop down on you.
I hate those little creatures. I used to poison them, which only made them drunk, then I beat them with a broom, then............ if I was really mad, I'd put them in a jar and put them out in the sun for days to bake them. They were poisoned, beaten, and baked and were still alive, so then I flushed them down the toilet :] . [I am a nice person, really]
I don't know any way to keep scorpions out. I kept moving, but there are colonies of them in certain areas. I never thought I'd ever say "I'd rather have cockroaches, but I would"
You need to put plain white sheets on your bed, so you can see if they are in it. Get an agressive cat that likes to catch bugs, mine was lazy. Really, as far as I know, there isn't any poison an exterminator can spray to keep them away, they have an armor-like shell that protects them. And I don't know of any natural preditors that you'd want in your house. You'll have to move. Meanwhile always check your shoes, and look down your pant legs before putting them on, and look down your shirt sleeves and coat sleeves before putting them on too. Use white towels, so you can see. Put white furniture covers on your couch.....all this so you can see them.Use a black light to search for them, they glow. Oh, I don't envy you.

We used to live in west Texas and Oklahoma, and these little ones would live in the wood barns, and in door facings, and under logs, and any place that bugs would go so they could eat the bugs.
We always had to be careful when we would climb around in the broken down chicken sheds, because we would disturb one and they would run out with tail raised ready to attack.
One day I was leaning with my palm on the door facing, and the little wood strips and metal insulation strips had one in between it, about shoulder high, and it whacked my hand from between those wood strips in the door facing.
So do Scorpians live above ground, At least in warmer weather they do........as well as in th grass.
We had a pool dug, in mid Texas, and a huge one came in the house and UP INTO MY BABIES BED. I WAS LUCKY TO FIND IT BEFORE IT BIT HIM. ANOTHER ONE CRAWLED ACROSS THE FLOOR ON THE CARPET....AT NIGHT, WHEN WE FLIPPED THE LIGHT ON.

I guess they can go anywhere they pretty well please, crawl up walls, under wooden shingles, in the grass, under rocks, depending on where they live in what part of the country.

As far as getting rid of them........humm......moth balls gets rid of snakes and dogs.........try them in the palm tree, but be sure you put them around your house first or they will run from the tree TO YOUR HOUSE!!!
IT IS WORTH A TRY...POST IT IF IT WORKS...OR IF YOU FIND ANOTHER PRODUCT THAT WORKS..

I always thought they lived in caves and moist, dark places like that. I went in a cave in Belize and saw a bunch of them.
That's scary, they are creepy!
