I had one. It's not as good of a tool as a Makita or DeWalt or even a Ryobi, but it was good for a couple of years to do stuff around the house. When I tried to replace the battery, I found that the battery cost almost as much as the drill did when I first bought it.

If you want to buy a relatively inexpensive, but still decent quality, drill get the 18 volt Ryobi instead. The firestorm is a POS, and another poster said that the replacement batteries are expensive.

I have had an 18v Ryobi drill for over 5 years. I bought it as part of a set of 18v tools. It has seen a LOT of use. I had to replace the batteries a couple of years ago and they all still work like new. ($40 for two)

Home Depot sells several combo packs of the Ryobi tools. I bought the drill, circular saw, light, reciprocating saw combo.

I use the drill and light quite often. The circular saw drains the battery too quickly for large jobs, but it worked great when I put up siding on my garage. The reciprocating saw is essentially worthless.

Buy an 14.4V Dewalt. Unless you use it a lot you probably don't need an 18V one. But get something that will last and is well built. The Black and Decker Firestorm is junk. Someone mentioned Ryobi - that's a decent drill but the best of the best is Dewalt. You get what you pay for!

They are alright but they don't have a lot of power. I bought my dad one for Christmas and you can only use it for about 10 minutes if you are drilling anything harder than plywood. Its handy for household jobs though and in reality my mom uses it more to drill screws into the wall to hang up dainty things.
