When we moved into our house, the past tenants had some of their kitchenware (pots, pans etc). We've always kept it all in a boxi n the kitchen but we want to dispose of it because we don't need it. We don't want to throw it away so we were hoping to give it away to some charity. Does anyone know of any places that would want it? Pref somewhere that might collect it from the house as none of us have cars and there is a lot of it. (We're in the Leeds area)

I am very interested in earthships. i was just wondering if anyone out there lived in one.
I was curious how you got involved and interested in the system, ecological living, and the earthship design.
is there any books you suggest i read to learn more about them?
my boyfriend and I are going on a roadtrip out west this summer. We're visiting colorado, arizona, new mexico... we know there are many earthship communities/neighborhoods out that way. Do you know of the best one we can drive through?
any more interesting facts?
thanks for the info!

I have used him before with no problems but when I looked the cuts are all jagged, he's letting his helper cut the flag stones, I need to speak to him today but worried he's going to make excuses - I mean it should be possible to cut these in a straight line shouldn't it? The job so far looks dreadful along the edge where they should all finish in a straight line.

I'm 17 and will be out of my parent's place in about 3-4 months with a room mate. I was wondering what some necessities would be besides the obvious (eg. furniture, silverware, towels, food, etc). It's really hard to find a list about the things your going to need but don't realize it.

I have always wondered what the real defination of a mansion is. I know it means a really big house but I just notice new large homes being developed around my community and some are getting larger and larger. Would a 6,200 sqft house be considered a mansion? I mean how many sqft do you need in order to determine that your house is a mansion?

I'm looking into buying an air cleaner/purifier. All I really want to do is to get rid of dusts floating in the air and I don't really care about removing others like odors and other invisible particles. I also don't want anything that creates ozon as I read that could cause bit of lung issue. I need one that will cover large area (at least 300 sq. ft). And I want to avoid expensive filters or maybe just have one that I can vaccum out. As for price, hopefully under $150. I've been searching on the web and haven't really run into the kind that I like or they were very expensive. If anyone knows one that I might like, please tell me. Thank you.

Soemone pu my cast iron skillet in the dishwasher, When it came out it had white spots embeded in it. I've had a couple of tupper wear pieces look like this after taking them out of the dishwasher. I'm pretty sure its the soap. Its gets really hard and wont stratch off. I scrubbed, but it seems like its really IN the pot.

So I tried to cook in it. When I put oil in it it boiled, and there were lots of bubbles. This had never happened before. Is it completely ruined, or can I do something to it. No matter how much I scrub, I can still see faint circles of white on the bottom.

She lives in town so I can't use spring traps because of neighborhood pets. I have an assortment of live traps from a mouse to a large dog and take pride in there use over 40 yrs. but I "Nerver Caught a Rabbit" and "they ain't no freinds of mine".(I'm sorry I couldn't resist). Any help on placement, bait or lures. Points for humor may be awarded but facts will prevail. Relavent source material frm Elmer, Bugs or Roadrunner should be considered. RScott

If I'm not careful, I get the smell of burnt plastic/rubber in my whole house if the flame is reaching the outer edge of the little sauce pan... The spot that keeps burning is all cracked and white. It's a horrible electrical fire-like smell. Doesn't seem logical to me to make something that you use around fire out of something flammable...

Hi

I have a Kitchen in my house that the previous owner had covered half the floor with carpet, and the other half with Vinyl. (don't ask me why)

Now I want to rip both of them out and replace them with ceramic tile floors. I know that I need to install sub flooring first to make the floor think enough for the tile, but would really like to get of the 20 or so year old vinyl. I know I can install the sub floor just on top, but was wondering if there was an easy way to get it out.

I started to pull it out, and the first half foot was easy to take out, but after that, it was stuck there pretty good. So what is the easiest way to remove this, without damaging the plywood underneath.

Thanks folks

You see me and my cousin are wicked good friend and since we were kids we always wanted to construct a water slide from his bedroom to his pool in the backyard. The window is facind directly at the pool and is some 50-75 feet away from it. It is on the second floor. This may sound stupid but we may still wand to do it. Where could I order water slide parts like this, is it possible and about how much would it cost?
