She lives in town so I can't use spring traps because of neighborhood pets. I have an assortment of live traps from a mouse to a large dog and take pride in there use over 40 yrs. but I "Nerver Caught a Rabbit" and "they ain't no freinds of mine".(I'm sorry I couldn't resist). Any help on placement, bait or lures. Points for humor may be awarded but facts will prevail. Relavent source material frm Elmer, Bugs or Roadrunner should be considered. RScott

Why don't you put some nice veggies in a live trap and go away for a while? You might find a rabbit in the trap when u get back.

I don't know if catching one live from the wild is a good idea. You might catch a sick rabbit.

What does your friend want? Is she trying to get rid of rabbits bothering her property or does she want these rabbits? I am not able to tell from your question what her intent is. If she wants them for pets, wild rabbits seldom become good pets. I am going to assume she wants rid of them but they are in an area where they cant be shot. Too bad...rabbit is good. The rabbits on my property are disposed of by my cats. However, rabbits on my property hang around where they can immediately hide, like near my phony outhouse or near the back porch where they can duck for cover fast. Placing a live trap about 10 to 15 feet from their "cover" location would be good. Supposedly rabbits love carrots...never seen it. The rabbits around me go for Jerusalem artichokes and lettuce, particulary romaine. Never had a rabbit dig up a carrot. The trap can also be disguised as a place to go. Cover the live trap with brush, leaves whatever so it looks like a potential safe place.
