how could i put out a small heater fire its plugged into an outlet

Quickly turn off the breaker or all the house power and go back and yank the cord and use water on it.
Otherwise a fire extinguisher(who has one at home??)

My immediate answer is baking soda.
I am not 100% sure though.
Since baking soda is in the kitchen, I would probably use a blanket to smother it.
