What would your ideal home look like if you had as much money as you wanted? Personally, I'd live in an ancient greek temple. There would be a giant statue of me in the center. I'd have a huge garden and a lot of trees and a pond with an small island in the center.

I need some wheat straw. I found some at Michaels, the arts & crafts store, but it is expensive (I need a lot). I was told to visit a feed store, where I would be able to buy it by the bushel for only a few dollars. I also need to pick up some other things (hay and hydrated lime). I live in NYC and have tried the Yellow Pages and Craigslist with no luck.

What are feed stores also known as and where would I locate one?

we're buying a house that is on a slab. We heard that slabs have a lot of problems like with plumbing and pipes. What are your opinions about slabs.

I have an 8 day cuckoo clock and it has been working fine for quite some time (it was passed down to me, it is know around 40 years old). I have recently noticed that after I wind it and start it again it will stop just a few hours after I wound it. I know it didn't pull the weights too high because there are rings stopping that. Is this anything I can fix myself?

We suddenly got a leak in our roof and water dripped all over the mattress for hours and it was soaked through. It's dry now, but I've always heard a mattress is ruined after it gets wet b/c it will smell and get moldy. Is that true?

I bought my new flat a couple of months ago and it has a fully-installed alarm in it. Unfortunately, the previous occupants lost the code and as it was installed before they moved in, they don't know which company made it.
There's no info on either the interior or exterior boxes as to who makes the alarm - there's not even an alarm name!
Does anyone know of a company who can reset alarms no matter what the brand/make?

Last night my nieghbors were knocking on my door telling me my garage was pouring water from the top. So i go and look and it was it looked like a waterfall. My neighbors who are renting the apt above my garage.(that apt is owned by someone else) were pretty much telling me that it was their water heater leaking and when they shut it off it stopped leaking. they said well all is good now right? and i don't think it is they don't want me to tell the owner of their apt that he neds to pay for the damage of my garage. I don't see any right now but mold could grow or my garage ceiling could be weak and fall. SO what would be the best thing to do i am a new home owner so i am not sure on the best way to handle something like this.

I am unable to have a venting kit due to thickness of house walls so is there a drier suitable for indoors use and no venting kit. It will be stacked ontop of my washing machine. Nearly always raining here otherwise would hang wash on outside line to dry.
