Actually you see these more and more in the states.

Lots of features other than the bidet. heated seat. Dryer.

Used in Japan more than the states, but I would say good technology is very American.

The bidet is about hygiene, but the heated part is for comfort.

I'm not sure why we have bidets here at all. It's just not American.

Heated seats are just one of the many features of bidets. Modern bidets are seat attachments that clean your butt using water instead of toilet paper. You can review all the modern features of bidets at http://www.bidettoilet.info

Bidets are necessary for hygiene.
We need them to become popular in the states!
I work in an office building where more than a few women leave a tuna-fishy odour in the restroom stalls upon exiting.
I'm sure there are myriad reasons as to why any woman would have a tuna-fishy-smelling 'cat' from time to time AND it would be nice if we had a bidet or two here to help wash-away the odour causing causes!
