Or does the gas tank make it too dangerous? If not, where can I discard a broken lawnmower?

You can't do that here unless you pay for a special tag. I'm not sure that it really does anything other than give the garbage company more money, but they generally won't take it otherwise.

If you have a lawnmower you don't need anymore, you may want to post it on craigslist for your area. There are always people willing to scavenge stuff for parts.

DA has a good idea.

Look in your phone book for salvage companies. They will often pick things up for free, or give you cash if you bring it to them.

depends on who picks it up but i know a salvage company will come out and pick it up for free. you just need to find one.

If you can stuff it in the trash can & put the lid on it ,they'll take it
