if I listen to their sales demo. I checked the BBB and they have a satisfactory rating, but I find it hard to believe about the shopping spree (it's some kind of catalog). Anyone with any knowledge or experience with this company?

I'm not exactly sure what category this would go in, but...
For four straight nights, kids have been taking my neighbors lawn furniture and dumping them on top of my vehicles. Am I allowed to fire my BB gun at people who trespass onto my property? It wouldn't hurt them too bad. I've set up a videocamera in my garage because I'm sure they'll be back tonight. I know this question is kind of weird....

There is no sugar, no fruit nothing in my house to be bringing on these fruit flies. The only thing I can think of is that they are coming from my kitchen sink. I have dumped drano in there, they were gone for a couple of days and now they have come back.

Is it possible they are coming from the drain? and if so, how do I clear the drain so they go away permanently?

I was talking to this guy, and he said his porch was really more of a stoop. What is the difference?

And while I'm at it, what is the difference between a porch, a deck, a patio, a lanai, a veranda...

Also, not to sound racist, but why does it seem that only black people ever talk about a stoop anyway?

I would like to remove a load bearing wall in the basement of my two story house. Cut 2x10 floor joists are now supported by this wall. On one side, the room area is 138sqft (2x10's are 10'10'' long), on the other, the room area is 96sqft (2x10's are 7'6" long). The unsupported span of the beam will be 10'8". What size LVL or Parallam do I need?. What is the best way to support the ceiling during wall removal and beam installation? Is there something I can rent to avoid building temporary walls?

Thanks!

And if the water connection is right behind the refrigerator (it's a brand new house), how long a tube do I need?

Thank you!

It is 4" pipe that is approximately 35 years old. And no, using a chisel and hammer is not an option nor is calling a plumber.

I would like to put up lights that come on when someone comes near the house or at least something that warns someone coming into the backyard that they are not welcomed. I have a kid that comes into the yard (I have that as another question on here) but I don't want to wake up everyone with something like a car alarm that could go off at 3am. Any ideas?

It's a three prong power plug that plugs into the wall outlet and on the other end is a set of 4 to 6 seperate 3ft cords, each with a three prong outlet. It lets you plug many devices into one outlet without using a power strip. The cable is flexible and insulated for outdoor use. I thought it was called the cord liberator but that is a series of short black adapter cables that allow you to do the same thing to a regular power strip. This device I'm talking about is all one unit. I'm looking for a name and/or link to a photo.

I live in the UK in Bedfordshire and built my own house around seven years ago. We have converted the attic space to an extra bedroom but have had constant trouble (winter and summer) with flies breeding and constantly have up to 10 - 20 flies on the go at one time. We have tried fly-papers and UV fly-traps like those used in restaurants but with no success. Can anyone offer any advice on how we could get rid of them?!?

Thanks!

I've tried to trap them and relocate but that doesn't seem to make a bit of difference. I've netted trees but the squirrels go through. I need them to go away. I live in a surburban area where they run along the fence lines. Some neighbors feed them peanuts and they nest high in the trees. What is a way to get rid of them so that they won't come back. We can't discharge guns here so can't do that. Thank you for your advice.
