I have been getting very big slugs (1.5 - 2.5+ inches long) in my house, in particular, the kitchen where my pantry (food cupboard) is. How can I get rid of them without using poisons or chemicals?
I have two cats, 7 months old and 8 weeks old. The 7 month old is always playing with them and I have seen her lick one once. Is this dangerous? Can she get sick?

Thanks for your responses.

How long does a memory foam mattress last? I think the regular spring bed usually last 10 years before the springs are worn out.

Ok, this isn't a dirty question as you might have at first thought. I live in a block of flats with a security entry. The postman always gets in to the building via the service button. Can anyone press it and the door will open?? What's the point of having it if so? Also, does it only work between certain hours of the day? I can't sleep for worry........ (only jokin of course) Please advise, thanks!

My wife likes to leave curling irons on all day. I need a device that would power the curling iron for 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes at a time, for example, then shut off power to whatever was plugged into it. I have seen these as light switches, like when you go into the whirlpool at the hotel, or the heat lamp in your hotel room. Timer.

We have a cute two bedroom home that we rent out. It is on a large piece of land and very beautiful. All of the previous tenants we have had have cared for it like their own and all have stayed with us for more than 3 years but...the last family that just left trashed the place, they were only here for 3 months. They left behind at least two truck loads of garbage, junk all over the land. They removed the shower head and took it, closet shelves and hanger rods...even the toilet paper holder. The broke a window and replaced it with plastic, took down shelves and damaged the walls by doing so, all of the closet doors are off. When they painted they painted the windows (sheesh!)
I do not have a forwarding address or phone # but I'm sure I can track them down. What are my legal options here? I have never had anyone treat our property so badly and what makes them think they have the right to remove permenant fixtures for their own.
I am very angry and dissapointed.
Any ideas

It doesn't have to be material in nature. You can personally and exclusively own it, but it's not absolutely necessary. It just has to be circular or spherical and be something you enjoy or benefit from.

I currently heat my water tank for our power shower/bath with gas. i have three daughters and they all shower in the morning, the gas is on for three hours to ensure there is enough hot water for all of them. However, our tank has an electric switch connected to the immersion heater in the tank which gives us instant hot water (like using and electric shower). My question is, would it be cheaper to have the water heated by the electrics for 30 minutes while the girls have showers or to heat the whole tank for three hours with gas. I know gas is considered cheaper than electricity but even in this case? And what about the environmental issues?
