all the big firms that do flat -pack, kitchen
fitting ,services are a con ,
One of the problems is, that they do not have control of who is does the fitting .
'Fitters ' are hired from a pool ,of poorly paid casuals.
we have had no end of troubles , with time keeping ,loss of parts . completion and quality of fitting ,
In fact a very expensive disaster area .
we eventualy , had to get a local family firm ,
to put things right for us
and that was At our extra expense .
The inefficiency ,does not stop with you, many kitchen parts , totally unrelated, to your order are delivered to your door , in error
and will they come and collect them ? no they will not .
Once they have your signature ,on the dotted line,
all interest in you stops . and all you get is a stone wall ,
every time you approach the firm .
A bulging web site ,may allow us miss-used, customers , a platform to vent on
( thus reducing our raised blood pressures.)
But that alone ,will not shame these, shameless firms ,into altering their habits .
the only way to touch them is,---------
to boycott the firms, that treat us like this .
If it effects their profits
!!! they may sit up and take notice .
I am ,a very unhappy kitchen freak!!!!

Unfortunatly your comments are not news.
We've seen it many times on here before. I bet there is an anti-MFI site somewhere.
They have been known as a cheap company with poor service for at least 20 years that I know of, so the most basic of consumer research will reveal that.
Buyer beware.
Its a shame you found out first hand, but the reputation was there for you to find out.

I had excellent service from MFI as a shop but the people they used to deliver the kitchen and bathroom were rubbish. They forgot some stuff on the delivery date, sent it with a courier company who went to wrong house and just left it on the path! When I needed a replacement part for the bathroom they forgot to post it for a month! Again this wasn't the shop but Mark Two distributors. I got on to MFI manager who sorted it all out for me immediately.

I agree dont even buy from MFI it took them six months to eventually get us all of our kitchen. A huge artic pulled outside one day. and I was impressed the driver opened the huge back doors and I was expecting a lot. They had sent the under worktop slide out towel rail. It went on and on. the next week we got the auto opening bin. The cupboards were on the walls for weeks without worktops. the doors went back twice in the end they just sent more doors. which are now lining my loft. DONT GO TO MFI

Sorry to hear about your problems - someone actually warned me not to use them so I went to Wickes, they are supply only and you have to find your own fitters. The service they provided was excellent - plenty of great planning ideas and they weren't pushy with the sale. So if you're after a new kitchen find a good joiner/plumber/sparky and get everything from Wickes!

Good on you mate! I've had the same trouble with B & Q fitters. Why don't you write to Watchdog, BBC TV. Or even better still, buy a That's Life magazine and write to them. They name and shame and usually get something done about people's problems with rip-off merchants.

I third this statement. I also was bitten many years ago and since my dreadful experience with them have never been thru their doors since. Surprised they r still in business to be honest. If u r still having problems with them a good idea is to write to their MD with a cc to watchdog, bbc, that often helps!
