I've just bought a TV licence online have given all my details incl bank ones. It says that it'll take 3 days to process, then email me my licence...

I want to use my TV tomorrow. Does anyone know whether I'm covered?

It doesn't say anywhere on their website... thanks!

go on, take a chance. the odds of them knocking on the door in the next two days are very low. as you have paid online, you can always tell them that.

I can't say for sure, because I live in the U.S. Do you actually need a paper license to show if the authorities come knocking? I'm surprised you can't print one out right away. I can do that with my auto registration. That being said, I don't see why you couldn't use it tomorrow for a couple of reasons. First is that you have paid and can plead that you paid the tax and they already have your money. It's not like they need to approve you. What are they going to do, run a criminal background check and reject your application so you (dangerous person, you) don't walk into a bank brandishing your telly in order to rob them? The second reason is, they have to catch you anyway. What are the chances they'll drive the detector van down your street in the next two days? Go ahead, live dangerously. Watch TV. You psychopathic, unlicensed TV...viewer...you...your kind really disgusts me.
