Can I scare them away? I've plugged some obvious holes in the foundation. What would repel them? What would make my crawl space undesireable? The colder weather seems to attract them to my home.

we do not cover it over the winter. We have always covered it before but just to ease my curiosity, what will happen if we don't cover it during a harsh, New England winter?

I am in rented accomodation and have an old central heating system and old radiators, none of which have thermostats. I would like to know if it is possible to turn a radiator off at one of the valves, as the hottest radiator is by the fridge freezer and the bin - dont really want that warming up! Also the ones on the 3rd floor dont really heat up, is that because the boiler is on the ground floor?

Thank you for any help

My tenant had a lease on my home for 1 year and broke because of some argument with a co-tenant. He left without paying his last months rent, trashed the place completely and broke a window. My house was fully remodeled inside and outside before he came in and now it needs about 1week of full time work on it. I live in Sacramento, Ca and just need a site or a phone number to file a complaint. Because I dont want this to happen to anyone else. Please help.

I cannot find a filter or even a place to put one in our furnace. The house was built in the 70s, but the HVAC inspector said that the furnace was 12 years old. Maybe it never had one? Maybe it was removed? The previous homeowner heated the house primarily with the fireplace, and we wouldn't be surprised if they modified the furnace. How can I figure out if there ever was a place for a filter? How would we go about adding a filter?

I live in an apartment complex of 326 units. There is a full time maintanece staff of at least 2. I put in a request a month ago for A/C but it was never filled. The weather went cold so I didn't think to much of it. The request to get the porch light fixed took 3 days but the request to fix the dishwasher was put in over a week ago. So should I be a sqeaky wheel or should I wait a little longer?

I am on a septic system. I have a front-loading washing machine.
Lately, every time I open the door to the washer, I smell soured water. I also have to keep the sink stoppers in the kitchen sink because I smell soured water there too. I have tried foaming pipe cleaners, vinegar and baking soda, boiling water...What is the problem, if any, and how can I fix it?

Our windows are sticking and impossible / hard to open and close. A lot of dessert dust gets in the house trough the windows. Is this normal? Do you have the same problem?

My home is located in Harrison County, Ohio. It is 70ftx16ft. We were told we need to tie down the trailer because of Federal Laws but we have not been able to locate any information on a local, county, state or federal level. Any help you can give us to locate these specs or laws will be greatly appreciated. Tie downs are meant to hold a trailer down in severe weather and are meant to be a safety feature. THANK YOU!

I won a bronze dolphin at Sea World's Floridaze in 1998. I admit that I didn't really take great care of it until the last year or so.

How often should I wax it to keep Rust and other evils at bay?

I have an Ariens 927 riding mower for my 1.5 acre yard and I'm afraid I have broken it! At first the engine wouldn't start, so I tried to jumpstart it and it would start but die again real quick. Then I checked the engine oil and it was low... I totally overfilled it! When I (jump)started the engine this time it spit out oil from the air filter! I siphoned out the excess oil. I could't find the oil drain plug. I found a screw on the other side of the engine but that let out gasoline (I think!). Probably my worst mistake was tipping it on its service bar to look under it - because now when I (jump)start the engine it doesn't even turnover and there's this swooshing liquid sound in the carb. Could it be gas? I also looked in the battery and one part looked dry so I added some distilled water. I don't think it leaked though. I feel real bad I think killed this engine and would appreciate any advice on how to fix it. I think I need to change the air filter and spark plugs right? Thanks!
