take photographs first, consult the local building authorities and contact and attorney. Oh and develop a cough shortness of breath and start weezing. Bet you'll get a new one and a rent reduction if not maybe you will be the next landlord!

I cant' think of anywhere that the lanlord would not be responsible for this. This is not a problem you created so he/she has to act or it is a lease breaker.

Mold in your home is a serious health hazzard. If the carpet is not removed and thorough cleaning done you should get out soon.

You need to report this to the proper authorities.

Google "landlord responsibilities" for your area and arm yourslef with the law.

your landlord is suppose to be responsible to change everything when a new tenant moves in I would check with an attorney and find out what yours rights are as a tenent because mold is something you don't want to mess with I am dealing with that now you may have to hire a professional carpet company to come clean it and see what they say also good luck

the only thing that will kill mold is bleach. so having said that, the only alternative is replace it. you should contact your landlord first. as with most rental agreements thy are responsible for the cost. if thy do not agree contact an attorney, as these things can get out of hand real quick. the consultation charge they charge is well worth it.

Tell your landlord to have it replaced or you will call the Health Board.
