pilot light? How old is it? I would turn it off and turn off your gas as well

If it isn't an automatic clean oven, you need to be cautious when using any flammable oven cleaners. Better turn off the gas, just to be on the safe side. If you are using Easy Off oven cleaner, first heat the oven to about 200 degrees, turn off the gas and spray the oven good. Leave on about an hour or so, and clean with a sponge using warm water and about a cup of vinegar.

no i work in a fast food place we use a wet rag and a butter knife works good

not really, but if you are planning on spraying alot of flammamble chemicals near where it is then yeah.
