not easily, but can be done. First if you just make a connection to the old thermo wire at the old thermostat, then you will need to make sure you leave access to that connection. It is illegal to bury a connection behind a wall without access. So the best way if you can is connect the new and old at the stat, and then go to your furnace and pull the new wire back to the furnace. Now to run the new wire upstairs you will need to remove some drywall up to the ceiling, then try and find the best route to run the new wire. Good luck.

Disconnect the thermostat. In the back will be two wires. Simply connect a new 2 wire line to the old one with wire nuts and run it to the new location. Phone wire, speaker wire or alarm system wire works well for this. The hardest part is fishing the new wire behind walls

Think this one over.
"Upstairs" is usually hotter than "downstairs", because hot air rises. If you move the thermostat up one floor, you will cause the lower floor become colder than you are used to.
Having the thermostat "somewhere in the vertical middle" of the house would be the sensible thing.

u can move very easy by sending wires up the cold duct return and extended just watch for wires connection they go by colors go on 2 floor and drop weight on the string then tie a wire on the end end pull up
