My tenant had a lease on my home for 1 year and broke because of some argument with a co-tenant. He left without paying his last months rent, trashed the place completely and broke a window. My house was fully remodeled inside and outside before he came in and now it needs about 1week of full time work on it. I live in Sacramento, Ca and just need a site or a phone number to file a complaint. Because I dont want this to happen to anyone else. Please help.

With his information can't you report this to like the credit bureau or whatever place that landlords report things like that for rental history? I guess that is what you are asking for but as a landlord you should have that info for just such a situation. Contact your clerk of courts and they should lead you in the right direction.

I wonder if you took him to small claims court. he left owing rent and trashed the place? did you have a first and last plus damage deposit deal? if not you're just a fool. if so than you have your money. i'd say most important is to fix it up re rent it and take him to court if costs exceed deposit.

i really don't think you want to post the tenant on a site so it doesn't happen to somebody else. you want to slam him, and if you do you open yourself up to charges. he may sue.

by the way multiple posts are against community guidelines.

call the police and file a report. file charges for willful destruction of property.file a claim in small claims court. obtain a judgement. it should go on his credit report. be sure to have copies of the lease and walk through on hand, as well as copies of estimates for the costs of repairs when you go to court. good luck!

You can rant and rave all you want, you cannot prevent this person from doing it to someone else. You are angry and that's normal but you need to concentrate on your financial well being. You need to take the individual to small claims court, get the damages repaired, rerent and move on.

Should be able to post something to his credit report, can't you? I know in Ohio a buddy skipped out on apt. community and they tagged his credit report with it. Stopped him from signing a lease most places till it was cleared up like any other credit item.
