Recently purchased a house from the Crazy cat lady who had 18+ cats and other animals. Litter box not changed nearly enough.
Anyways, the cats peed in several spots. The stains can be seen on the bottom side of the floor boards in the basement. I havent used anything yet, but have heard the sanding the floors, www.urinegone.com, amonia and backing soda ideas.
What will work best? I hope it does not come down to replacing the 130+ year floors. Damn crazy cat lady.

vents are on the baseboards, with a lever in the center to open & close. a solid metal cover that moves up to open & down to close.

My boss, the chief Engineer here, called in a plumber and the plumber suggested among other things to check the mixing valves on the showers, so my boss now has us checking the mixing valves in all 76 rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors, the only 2 floors of 13 where the noise is heard. I'm not a plumber by any means, but I do have a general knowledge of plumbing, and I just cant fathom how turning off the supply to an idle mixing valve in one room is going to stop the hammering in all 76 rooms. Has anyone dealt with commercial plumbing? Does this sound reasonable to you? Do you have any idea what could be causing the noise? Is there any way to fix it without draining the entire building?

I have been working here for about 17 months now, and when I started the noise was nonexistent, after a couple of months I got one complaint of a loud noise, then another from a different room a few weeks later, and it has snowballed from there to include almost every room on the 1st and 2nd floor

Hello everyone,

I've been searching online for a Kenmore Sewing Machine Belt, a 1957 model, but I've been coming up "no deal". Does anyone know of where I can get a "vintage" sewing machine belt, for that model and year?

I have a couple of small appliances (microwave, air purifier) that have had their electrical cords destroyed by one of my cats. Any ideas on who to call to get these repaired?

PS: Can electrical tape be used to repair small bite marks on a fan cord?

Thanks!

We are purchasing a home with no first floor bathroom. The only space available is the Kitchen pantry. (The other rooms have beautiful beams on the ceiling & or a fireplace or baywindow or columns & we dont want to take away from the integrity of the historic home. Under the stairs is not an option (it turns and becomes the basement stairs.) So, the kitchen pantry is SMALL..but thats it. The house is kindof small..craftsman bungalow 1 1/2 story. What is the MINIMUM amount of space needed for a small powder room? (Toilet & tiny sink & pocket door.) Width/length? And any other tips (ie plumbing stack advice?)

I have an Avanti 2.2 cubic foot deep freeze (not self defrosting),that is only one year old.It was working great. We ate all the food out of it so i figured i would unplug it and open it up and let it defost itself and give it a breather.Well it sat unplugged for about 4 months, then today i turned it on and it is not cooling.I can hear the compressor humming and its very hot to the touch, but it is not cooling.
