If it is water based paint use rubbing alcohol.

Flat out, and to the point...

You will sctatch the plexiglass.
Alcohol will cloud it some but more problematic is the rubbing action no matter whether it is with a soft cloth or a paper towel, plexi simply scratches.

My reccomendation is to buy a new piece of plexi. It is not terribly expensive and you will be much happier in the end.

how much paint are we talking here, if it is just a spattering, a razor, used lightly should do it. just be light with the touch. might even try using some warm dish soap and a scouring pad, you know the green ones used for teflon cooking pans. good luck..
