Hate to say my friend it could be the motor is seized. Did you allways remember to put oil in the gas? Its hard to say with out seeing it. But thats my guess.

Try taking off the cover that goes over the pull cord assembly.Check to see that the cord is not bound or twisted or frayed. Clean the parts. When you go to replace the cover pull the cord out 3-5 inches, or just as it first starts to compress, and then secure the cover. If you tighten the cover without pulling cord out slightly, alot of times with some saws you wont be able to pull it at all. If that doesnt work, than you have bigger problems.

Could be that the engine is seized. But maybe it's just that the recoil is jammed. Take the recoil off a see if you can pull the cord when it's not engaging the engine. If you can and the recoil is fine-the saw is fried

it sounds like to me that the starter cord has jumped out of it's track and stuck between the pulleys and the saw housing . or the recoil spring. buy you a new cord and install it . the old one may be frayed causing the problem

This is usually caused by engine compression or a pinched pull rope.

Is it flooded? Do like the other guy suggested and take out the plug and try it.
