I have a couple of small appliances (microwave, air purifier) that have had their electrical cords destroyed by one of my cats. Any ideas on who to call to get these repaired?

PS: Can electrical tape be used to repair small bite marks on a fan cord?

Thanks!

Just make sure the wires are not touching or it will short out.If the insulation is just torn off, It will be OK to wrap in tape, But if
wires are broken, I would replace the cord. LOWES or Home Depot personnel should be able to help you on this, They can tell you what type of cord to buy and plug to put on end of it and show you how to put plug on it, Then just matter of opening up cabinet and change the cord out.

Can't judge without seeing if electrical tape will be good enough...it may well be though. Here's a suggestion: If you have a gfi receptacle in your kitchen plug the repaired microwave into that so if there is a short the gfi outlet will cut the power instantly. If the wires must be replaced almost anyone who works on appliances should be able to put new ones on. The hardest part would just be the dis-assembly/ reassembly... and I doubt that that would be very hard either.

you're in success, yet you're truly finding on the incorrect answer! a working laptop or pc cable, printer cable (show screen cable, for that rely) is an hassle-free rely to purchase a clean one. it truly is achieveable to repair the previous one, yet surely, those plugs are usual. it is not worth some time or attempt to purpose to repair it. you shouldn't even would desire to do any wiring. it truly is conceivable you will hafta do wiring on the printer, yet i've got by no potential considered a working laptop or pc with a complicated-under pressure out capacity cord. the capacity cord for the pc would desire to unplug from the back (the tip of the cord into the pc would be a three-prong lady and the place you unplug it truly is going to exhibit a three-pronged recessed male outlet. desire this permits! I replace electrical cords. For safety, if there are any deformities in an electrical cord, I replace it. The new cord is cheap. Electrical tape is for temporary fixes only.

a worn or bare appliance cord is not safe. I would suggest taking any appliance you have to a fix-it shop and let them put a new cord on for you. It doesn't cost much and you will still have fluffy around for a while.
