I am getting estimates on having my kitchen replumbed. One company uses copper and the other uses PEX. The one that uses PEX came in at about $500 cheaper. Is PEX as good as copper? Why? Or why not? Thanks!

Okay, so I use my dishwasher on occasion. However, when it is not in use, clean water slowly seeps into the drain area and it just sits there. Why does it do that and how do I fix it? Thanks~

I've noticed a crack in the wall of my garage and a large crack in the floor. I think the problem stems from a willow tree in a neighbours garden which is planted approximately 5 meters from the garage and about 7 meters from the house. It is a medium size willow tree of about 6/7 meters high (approx).
We are concerned that it if left it would cause further damage.
In certain areas of the garage wall you can see daylight through the cracks.
Legally, apart from the neighbour, who do we contact?

I would be very grateful for any information, thanks!

I tried to start my lawnmower today, it failed. I need an answer that I can understand, as I have no idea about these things. I do know that it has gas, has oil, and the sparkplug works fine and is connected. If I push the primer button 3x like it suggests, I don't get anything. If I push the primer button 6x, it comes really close to starting, but just fails. Please help, I would like to mow my grass before the rain comes. I also have a blister from pulling the freakin cord so much. Yes, I admit it, I'm a girl, and I'm a wimp. Please help.

I bought a new fridge about 3 weeks ago. Side-by-side GE and has a water and ice dispensor. The ice is working perfect but the water is room temperature. I couldn't find any information in the manual about whether the water is supposed to be room temp or cold. I would think the water is supposed to be cold but it's not. Is that normal? Is something wrong with the connection? Any ideas?

My a/c works, it's central a/c w/ a gas furnice - but on really really hot days i'll have it set for like 72 and it won't get below 83 or at the most 79. On a regular day it works fine. My indoor unit is 1 yr old and the service guy told me my freeon levels outside are fine. Is this a maintanance issue? Could the vents inside the walls need cleaning? My house is 30 yrs old so i dunno... Sometimes the air doesn't feel very strong from some of the vents. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

I've got a plumber here who is telling me some black iron piping was used in my water line and it is toxic and needs to be replaced.

Is that true? Or is he just trying to find other ways to soak me?

What would cause damp/wetness around air conditioner vents?
This is an outside central unit and I've noticed damp/wet areas around the vents (vents are located in the floor) in the house. The central unit is only a couple of months old, though the vents and duct work are original to the home. I never noticed this with my old central unit.
