Copper prices are running very high. I think they are over $3 a pound. Since your tank will require no cleanup, it should bring top dollar. If you were to have a/c coils, the price would be less. The scrap dealer would have to "cleanup" your copper before he could sell it. Depending on the weight, you could get quite abit for it.

Dont bother. I cut through the cylinder with an angle grinder, about half way up/down. Cut slots spaced about 3 inches apart all around the circumference to a depth of about 6 inches. Using pointy nosed pliers i coiled the copper spirally back, Using the angle grinder at an angle , I burnished a pattern all over the remaining plain cylinder. WHAT A WONDERFUL PLANTER Sold it for £25 Sold the other half for £3 to a scrap merchant.
If I was younger and had the time I would go int the manufacture of them..P. S. Dont worry about the holes in the cylinder, they are a conversation piece.

Hi, they will want you to drop it off or they will charge you, so if you take in consideration the travelling you will have to do to get next to nothing, you are probably better off keeping an eye out for the local tat man, if you have one. Or you could put it on Ebay, it is suprising what sells on there.
