too. Each plant is about 70 to 80 days old and they all look EXCELLENT! Thick stalks, thick bushy leafs... just healthy plants, why are they not showing any sign of veggies on them at all yet...? They cabbage looks good too, but doesn't look like a head of cabbage yet... just the beginnings... thanks.

How is it that these landscaping companies make the grass look dark on one line, and light on the other. It looks fantastic but I've never been able to do it. maybe I've been living under a rock but I have no idea how they do it. Can someone give me some insight here?

of dirt....I don't think it's necessary. The mulch may be a tad higher than my sidewalk/ stepping stones etc. and I don't think it will wash away from that...??? I know if U can't see my yard it's almost impossible to figure out, but I'm just wonderig if people usually take away a bunch of dirt first.....(?)

I think that's what they are called. They have a shape like a spider mum, but the ends of the petals are shredded. They look like a spider mum that was put head first into a garbage disposal. Haven't seen them in years and would love to get some - either flowers or plants.

Someone *accidentally* seeded the grass with the wrong seed...now it is St. Augustine & Bermuda grass growing together. Can I overseed with one grass, or do I have to re-sod the entire lawn. It is a huge lawn and looks terribly unsightly up-close.

It was lovely once but the leaves seem to be lacklustre and are dying/going yellow quickly. What have I done wrong and what can I do to fix it?

and grow some veg instead for a change (i just ended up letting the birds eat the fruit but dont worry - I will leave some for them).

When I finally get them dug out, how should I prepare the ground, what veg should I grow that will not be a failure to a very amateur and part-time gardener and what should I be doing now? Live in west of Ireland so need hardy type of veg and I refuse to use slug pellets so dont want anything too attractive to these pests.

Thanks

I received this tree as a gift about seven years ago. It has gotten too big for the house. Is it okay to plant it? Should I do it now (early Oct. in NC) while the weather is mild? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I have had very good luck walking quietly about the lawn and waiting for them when to pop up and wacking them with a #3 wood. But my gardener suggested that I would get better speed with a #4 iron.

True, I might. But would that be sporting?

Has any one tried gardening with the moons cycles. It is something I am very interested in as it seems to make sense.
I have sort of tried to follow the guidelines in my gardening.
It's hard to get any of my clients to cooperate though so i just really do what I can at home.
Do you have to stick to a rigid system or can it just be incorperated to 'normal' gardening?
Is it really as time consuming as I find it?
