Scotts (Levington/Murphy) make Lawn Builder which is a scorch free lawn feed/weed/moss killer (and or) any combination. and is a quality product. these also make autumn lawn Builder which again is scorch free. This and the branding is why you pay a higher price.

Scotts also make Evergreen lawn care products which are again very good, however are not scorch free and a mid way price range.

A known brand which is a good product a good price are Westland lawn products, generally £s cheaper on most sizes and the same formulation as Evergreen.

Scotts lawn builder is the best product overall as the anti scorch element of the product is very reassuring and could save problems later.

Not necessarily. It depends on where you live. Scott's is formulated for middle USA. If you live in the south Fetilome is better.

Scott's is a GREAT product but mass marketed. Check with your local nursery, not Home Depot or Lowe's. Your local climate mandates your needs.

The short answer is "Probably not". You're paying for lots and lots of advertising. I'd stick to store brands and I'd get a soil test before applying any fertilizer. See your local County Extension Agent about soil tests.

I think it depends what you're looking for. Actually, if you do some checking you may find at local nurseries or farms 'locally made fertilizers'. Both my dad and father in-law use these types of products and they seem to be better than the mass produced versions.

No. Forget the grass, free yourself from the burden of taking care of it. Is it really making you happy to have a nice lawn, green and cut to the T ??? Is it?

I've used it with good results. I've also used the dept. store brand with good results. If you're curious, and have the room to do it, get one bag of each, and set up a test plot where you can put them side by side in similar settings, and see what you get.

My neighbor is a master gardener, and she recommends the dept. store premium brand, for what that's worth.
