Its a Dracena or "Corn Plant" and too much water and not enough light are probably what's wrong with it at the moment. You only water them when the top inch or two of soil in the pot is dry to the touch. If it isn't in front of a window or doesn't have a grow light shining on it, watering it on a schedule like once or twice a week can cause damage from overwatering.

I have a couple of these and I keep them in front of a southeast facing french door with mini blinds (lots of indirect morning sunlight) and it's thriving. I would say you probably water enough (the leaves on top look healthy). So, get this puppy some more light.

I do have one outside on a southeast facing wall with no cover that is doing well. So, they can tolerate direct sunlight. But, do not subject one to direct sunlight that is not used to it. The leaves will become sunburned, turn brown, and fall off. It won't kill the plant, necessarily. But, the only way for it to recover would be for all new leaves to sprout.

Dracaena......

Here's a website. http://www.dracaena.com/

Poor baby needs light. Concentrate on proper growing conditions: light, temp, nutrients, pest control before you get exotic with tea.
