The Flowering Dogwood (Cornus florida) is not native to Canada, as is the Alternate Leaf Dogwood (Cornus alternifolia). Whereas the Red-osier Dogwood (Cornus stolonifera) is native to Canada. A close relative to the Dogwood but is a low-growing plant, is the Bunchberry (Cornus canadensis) is native to Canada, and even up into Alaska.
