Tonight the temperatures outside were supposed to get to 42 degrees, and my phalenopsis hybrid has put out a beautiful stem of buds that haven't blossomed yet, so I decided to protect the orchid. When I went to cover it, the stem snapped clean off!!! AUGH!!! I am so depressed because this is the first time I've actually kept an orchid alive long enough for it to rebloom. So what do I do now? If I keep the blossoming stem in water with some feed, will it bloom? Or should I give up and start banging my head into the wall? Also, the only reason I was going to cover the orchid was because I heard that they'll drop their buds if they're not protected in a cold snap. Was that even true, or did I sacrifice my little beauty for nothing?

I just got a little venus fly trap.

I just need to know if I can give bottled water, and if it is better in a pot or the ground. Also how much water can be given? Any more general info would be great! Thanks!

Tonight its suppose to get to 44 degrees will me plants be ok? The rest of the night for the week will be in the 50's-60's.

I have some green tomatoes on there now, will they turn red if I put them in the window after picking them off?

I heard that you can freeze the plant and reuse it for the next summer, is that true? How do I do that? Do I save just the roots???

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

What would be the best way to take from it to start my own grape vine at my home? I found it about 10 minutes from my house growing wildly.

I hired a landscaper to remodle my backyard, removing half of the lawn area to replace with concrete to extend land area. He gives me 2 options since he's two-days behind his schedule.

1. Wiremesh concrete. (That's what we agreed in the first place)

2. Using fiberglass concrete. (The option he gives me later on stating it doesn't require to lay the wiremesh but just pour the whole area, but it's stronger and last longer than wiremesh concrete.)

Since I'm not familiar with fiberglass concrete, I'm not sure if he's trying to cut his time to go with easy method?
What are the pros & cons on these 2 options?

I will have it under control and I will not grow it in my yard or anything. I will put the pot of kudzu in a cage and do experiments with it. I WILL NOT PLANT IT ANYWHERE BUT IN A POT. THIS IS FOR EXPERIMENTAL REASONS ONLY.

I have a large bush that is too hard to cut with a handsaw. I don't want anything too big or dangerous-just a nice easy to use electric saw. Can anyone recommend something?

My rosemary plants always die from the bottom up within a few months. If it lives I have a spindly tall plant that looks like a pathetic pine branch! I live in S. Coatal Georgia near the ocean and an hour north of Jax. Is that part of the problem?

I don't have any thorned plants handy, and I'm just wondering - when you remove the thorn, what does the other side look like? Is it flat and smooth, or hooked into the plant somehow? I'm doing an organic graffiti type drawing.. anyways, I can't find any photos. Descriptions or photos would be appreciated.
