I just got a little venus fly trap.

I just need to know if I can give bottled water, and if it is better in a pot or the ground. Also how much water can be given? Any more general info would be great! Thanks!

According to the link you need to grow it in a terrarium with a saucer for water. Open the link and it tells you all about the care.

You can plant your Venus Fly Trap outdoors in a partly to fully sunny, moist (but not totally soaked) spot as long as your lowest winter temperatures don't go much below 35 degrees Fahrenheit. That said, I've found it's easier to keep them alive inside the house in a really sunny window if I mist them daily with a little spray bottle. These guys really know their stuff! The thing about bottled water is that certain brands may contain minerals that may be harmful to the plant. Terrariums are a breeding ground for the plant to catch all kinds of nasty fungus and mold infections. It is best to plant it in a 50/50 peat and perlite mix, or substitute sand for the perlite. I use distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water and give the plant 4 to 6 hour of sunlight a day. I grow them out doors so they can go through their require dormancy every winter. Another drawback to terrarium growing.
