in the past when I got the cypress mulch it was straw like, the other types are like bark chips and this time I got the cypress mulch and it spread out like dirt, kindof powdery. Is that how it should be?

The pond is equipped with an in-filter UV light, but the water is too far gone for it to be effective. There are a few plants growing in the deepest part-- 4 feet-- and there is also a 2 foot waterfall. Along with the koi, there are several shebunkins and some dace.

Just curious. I live in Tennessee and am needing to put out my advertisement for spring. And am debating if I should put them out now or wait until the end of next week when maybe more people will be thinking about calling someone. What is your opinion?

I'd like to have a vegetable garden this year. I'd like it to be as close to totally organic as possible. Problem is, I have tons of deer and I don't want them to be eating everything I'm trying to grow.

Also, what about insects? Is there anything that can be done about them?

I'll probably get it started w/ some organic, store bought soil, then begin composting for next year's fertilizer.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions?

I'm looking for a company near Glasgow to do our driveway and I was going to go with mono block. What should I be asking these companies so I don't get ripped off? Also we want to landscape our back garden which has a steep downwards slope. We thought decking straight out over it was the best solution. Any other ideas? We would need to put up an 8ft fence if we go for decking. Do you need planning permission for that? There is only woodland behind us. Can anyone out there recommend a company for either? Many thanks.

I have quite a large and unruley hedge in the front garden, it is my mission for the summer to "tame" the hedge.

I would like to reduce it in size and improve the shape...

...so my question is when would be the best time (of year) to start cutting it?
