It was unseasonably warm this winter until this week. My daffodils put up green shoots about 3 - 4 inches. Now it's freezing. Should I cut them to the ground or leave them alone? Will they come up again in the spring like they normally would?

I found a plant that a local restaurant wanted rid of (they left it outside by rubbish in the evening for bin men) that looked to be healthy, you could see new leaves coming out. I'm not quite sure what type of plant it is so I'll describe it and see if anyone can help on that subject first. It looks exactly like a Dracana except it's leaves don't have the the yellow coloured borders around it's edges. The stem of the plant (like a small palm tree) is the same as the Dracana. I kept in my living room at first but it's leaves started to curl around the edges and I thought it may be the central heating drying it out so I Moved to the kitchen which doesn't have a radiator in it. It didn't seem to be improving so I thought it might be an outdoor plant and put it on the balcony. This didn't help either as the leaves were drying out and dying. I now have it back in my kitchen but it's not improving. Please help as I'm really fond of my plants.

We have many landscape plants that show heavy frost damage from several long nights of frost. Just some of these include:

Several blue flowering potatoe bushes where all the leaves have wilted and turned brown.... (plants were about 3 or 4 years old)...

Several tall 20 ft "cherry" bushs that have all turned completely brown from frost. These are not real cherrys but just those little cherries that the birds eat. These are very tall thin plants. I don't know the real name for them.

Plus we have many bouganvalias that have also lost every leaf due to frost.

Finally my concern includes a beautiful 5 year old ficus tree that has really been the crown jewl of our landscaping. This tree has had every leaf turn completely brown and become wilted (except for just 3 leaves on the underside of the tree)...

Can I dare to hope that our landscaping and plants will revive themselves - somehow? What should I do to help them?

I greatly appreciate any help that you can provide

First of all I have no gardening experience whatsoever, hence me growing my flowers in the back of the fridge!!!

I have pickwick, remembrance and jeanne d'arc bulbs which I put in the refrigerator in those tiny glass hyacinth vases. They've been in since around October and I have been filling the vases just to the brim with water with the bulbs on top turned on their sides, as directed by the packaging! Typically I lost the packaging :-D and am stuck as to what to do next! They have started to produce roots and shoots. Now for my barrage of questions:

1. When can I take them out of the fridge?
2. Now that they have started to produce roots and shoots, should I turn them to grow down into the vases?
3. When should they be placed in sunlight?
4. Should I plant them in soil?
5. If I should not plant them, and should keep them in their vases, should I keep topping them up with water?

Thanks and apologies again for my thoroughly embarrassing lack of gardening knowledge!!!:-D

I would like to trim these up with out damaging the plant. When I was a child they were nice and thick with many large blooms. I would like to have a nice cleaned up look to them. Any suggestions would be great, I really like the bush (more tree-like now) and would like to have it around for many more years.

thanks

I just recieved a quote for trimming down a Cedar tree, topping off three pine trees, trimming down branches that come into my yard, and putting two shrubs to the baseline of the yard. It came to around $1800, which I think was pretty high.

Anyone have a company they've worked with that does trimming, deadwood removal and balancing, and have kept the bill under 1k?

Thanks in advance for the time you take to answer this question.

I have been told not to use maricle grow because of the chemicals. My plant is starting to flower, and the leaves are starting to turn a lighter color. She is trainwreck, and the leaves have been really dark during the growth period. I have invested a lot of time and money on her and I want the best, "highest" yield possible.
