I found a plant that a local restaurant wanted rid of (they left it outside by rubbish in the evening for bin men) that looked to be healthy, you could see new leaves coming out. I'm not quite sure what type of plant it is so I'll describe it and see if anyone can help on that subject first. It looks exactly like a Dracana except it's leaves don't have the the yellow coloured borders around it's edges. The stem of the plant (like a small palm tree) is the same as the Dracana. I kept in my living room at first but it's leaves started to curl around the edges and I thought it may be the central heating drying it out so I Moved to the kitchen which doesn't have a radiator in it. It didn't seem to be improving so I thought it might be an outdoor plant and put it on the balcony. This didn't help either as the leaves were drying out and dying. I now have it back in my kitchen but it's not improving. Please help as I'm really fond of my plants.

Try re-potting it with new sterile soil - they dont like a lot of water, need a light shade if you know what I mean. Spray with a good foliar spray, and wash the leaves. Bless you for trying to save a plant -

Hello Jessica.
There are many species of Dracaena but they all have roughly the same care requirements. When the leaves start to curl, it's normally a reaction to low temperatures or draughts. If it's just the lower leaves that are affected, don't worry as this is a natural process of old-age.
Some Dracaena's are often confused with species and varieties of Cordyline, and the way to tell them apart is by looking at the rootstock.
Keep the compost moist (less water in winter) and mist the leaves frequently. Repot it in Spring. Good luck, x

I think your plant is a Dracena Spike, go on the internet and check it out, mabe the reason you and the restaurant could'nt grow this plant is it is probably sick. Check for insects, it may have a virus. If you can't perk it up with in a month, mabe you could take it back to the restaurant and let the garbage man take it. You did what you could for the plant. Happy Growing!!!!!!!!!!!

Look on the underside of the leaves..it could have spider mites. If in doubt, spray it really well with an insecticide garden spray. If it is infected, it will infect your other plants in your home as well!

Sounds like a corn plant. I have one. They need little water and low humidity. You should use store bought water it could be the clorine yellowing it out.
