to get much rain this spring. I'm growing 'California Poppies'. Sould I wait till early sumer to water? Have not watered them at all this winter. Should I wait till early summer? Say July??? Help! I don't want to lose them.

Check the soil that their growing in, if its moist don't worry. Its going to knock them if they dry out badly but no need to over-water either, just keep checking the soil and water when required.

I Live in CA. Mojave desert by the wild poppy reserve and we haven't got any popping out yet to cold still. They don't need much water maybe just get the dirt a little wet, don't soak the area and you don't have to water everday pat the dirt and observe the plant if it looks dry add water and if its cold you may want to protect it with leaves for insulation. GOOD LUCK

well if you don't want to lose them i would suggest watering them! you don't want to over water them but you do want to give them a little something to grow with. do you get hungry or thirsty ever? i would suggest feeding each individual plant about 2-4 ounces per day. good luck!
