How do I fast activate a slow decomposing compost heap? Is there anything on the market that I can add to the mix? So far I've tried turning, loo rolls, grass clippings and kitchen waste (bar dairy/ meats) but it's not doing much. Anything you can suggest? Thanks!

I recently had to move into a cube at work and would like to bring in a small plant for my desk. Are there any plants that can survive without natural light?

If you don't recycle, how many uses can you come up with? It's aweful to see them stuck in the trees, and all along the highway. I use them outside my socks, in my shoes when I garden, my feet stay nice and dry!

Just wondering if anyone has any advice propogaring Hardy Hibiscus from a root cutting? I took a small piece of root (about 6") with several small root threads coming off of it. I have in planted in potting soil and am trying to propogate it over the winter.

Anyone done this before? Any opinions or advice would be very much appreciated.

I have a very tall conifer ( iI believe it to be a chamaecyparis/cypress), quite attractive, lovely green colur and nice conical shape.
It is taking lots of space and light and water in the garden/it has long roots and only ivy can grow near it.
Still its probably good for birds, I don't know if it's OK to cut it down

Does anyone know where I can find Christmas trains for outdoors. Not garden trains, bigger. Not the kind that are all lit up, but do not move. We've checked Lowes, Diamonds and on-line, but haven't found the right wording, I guess.
