I recently had to move into a cube at work and would like to bring in a small plant for my desk. Are there any plants that can survive without natural light?

Your office must be fairly well lit--or you have a desk lamp? If it is there are several plants you might consider. African violets are a favorite because if taken care of properly will bloom throughout the year. Spider plants are interesting but don't often bloom. Philodendron and nice looking foliage plants and are idiot-proof. There are more but I think any of these three will be good for starters.

If you are under a florescent light a philodendron is definitely your best bet. A little water once a week and a Jobe's plant spike for every two inches of pot once a year and it will be a happy little camper for many, many years.

I think small cacti is a good bet. There are many plants that don't need direct sunlight.
