I live in Raleigh NC and have a yard that is half fescue grass and half dead (I used grass killer to get rid of wire grass). Now I've aerated and seeded. I think I should put fertilizer down now. But I also had my soil tested and it said I need to apply lime. Should I apply fertilizer and lime or one and not the other or neither with my new seeds? HELP!!

We just moved into this house. I don't know how old the tree is, but it does seem to be a mimosa (I'll ask the neighbors if it blooms) and I think it is sick. It has a patchy greenish film in areas of it's grey trunk and branches. It also has big gashes in it and black areas.

Straight from the plant what do I do with the leaves? Do you pluck them and wait for them to dry, or do it with fresh ones? I have no idea can someone please tell me how to make spearmint tea right from the plant?

I live in an area where it snows. I planted elephant ears this year and they did very well. Am I supposed to dig them up? If yes when do I do it? Do you cut all the leaves off and then dig it. How are you supposed to store them? Basically I would like to have step by step instructions. Thankyou

I have a confirmed dead pine tree in the back yard (roughy 50 ft) and it's close enough to the house that I can't just take it down with an axe. So what's the best way to find a good tree service? There are many around in the phone book: what are some qualifications to look for in a tree service?
Also, any idea what I can expect to pay for the removal of one 50 ft. tree?

And yes, it is confirmed dead. I contacted the forest department and they verified this.
Thanks.

We have a hedge of conifers along the side wall of our back garden, but recently, our next door neighbour has begun heavy digging and construction work in his garden. We think that the conifers' roots may have been damaged by this - one has died completely and a couple of others have branches beginning to go brown, though some still look healthy. Is there any way we can compensate for the root damage and save the trees, for example, by applying fertilizer to the soil, or watering more frequently? If so, what's the best way to go about it?
