Tree expert help : I have tree root encroaching toward the foundation.?

What can i do? Can I cut the root without killing the tree?

Just don't cut too many.

Best bet is to dig up and cut off the root before it does any damage. The tree will be fine, so I wouldn'y worry about that. I would recommend cutting the root as far back to the tree as you possibly can though.

You can cut the root but if it is that close eventually it will or already has shifted that wall.Better to remove it before more damage.
