In nature, tree stumps eventually rot or they are digested by "wood eating" critters and the bacteria or fungus in their stomachs. It takes a long time. You could probably speed up the process through the application of moisture and the retention of heat. Keep the stump wet, and keep it covered with a barrier that would prevent the heat and moisture from escaping. Depending many factors such as the size of the stump, and the availability of termites to help you out, etc, you might be at it for the rest of your life.

Drill lots of holes in the stump and cover the stump with a nitrogen source- fertilizer, compost, manure, fish emulsion dried blood. The stup is rather intense in carbon and the nitrogen breaks the carbon down swifter to allow the stump to decompose. The compost has the extra great component approximately microbes that speed the technique. The holes permit water and the Nitrogen into the stump to hurry the technique alongside.

You're going to have to chop it out, or use a stump grinder. When you get it a couple inches below ground level, fill it in with black dirt, and add some grass seed.

Move to a house where there are no tree stumps or use termites. You will then have to move because the termites will eat your house but the tree stump will have gone naturaly.

The ONLY way to rid yourself of a tree stump NATURALLY, is to wait for it to decompose.

It's impossible in your lifetime. My Dad just got tired of looking at his and finally hired the guy with the BIG grinder and got them ground down 6 inches below ground level. Now he's planted grass there and it looks nice.

I've always heard you can burn them, but that usually entails some type of lighter fluid, which isn't natural. Otherwise, you could call a tree company to grind it down. Good luck.
