A couple of years ago I bought a grape tree and planted it in my backyard. This year i was very excited when is finaly grew grapes. When they became ripe i was very dissapointed to find out they tasted nothing like grapes. They were sour and sort of tasted like the smell of fertilizer. Do you think the grass fertilizer got to it? I appreciate any help.

I have a plant come up in my garden and I have a horrible feeling it may be deadly nightshade/belladonna. How can I confirm this? Also if it is how do I get rid of it permanently? It's very pretty but it's in my front garden and the local kids play there and I don't want them getting hurt from it.

My wife and I started a hibisus plant from a nursery 3 seasons ago. It started out great and has only gotten better.....maybe a little too better. Began with one shoot and flowered tremendously. Now we have 7 shoots from the same plant. It's kind of taking over its space. Can I divide this plant?

We are planning a deck for our yard. On one side of the yard, we have a 100 year old Oak tree. In MN, we must have footings that are at least 4 feet deep. We do not want to injure the oak tree in the process of building our deck.

I live on 1.25 acres and am getting new neighbors soon (new construction). Everyone is spaced out in my neighborhood but my new neighbor built there house so far back that the front door and drive looks out to my backyard and pool. I think they will be great neighbors yet I moved to a country-like setting for the privacy. I need plants that can go up now for a screen. I live in zone 8. Evergreens are my preference for year round screening. I've talked to a few different landscapers but none have given me a good plan for immediate coverage. Nurseries around here (Dallas/Ft. Worth) dont seem to have evergreens large enough. Any ideas? Are there specialty nurseries I should be looking at?We CANNOT have wooden fences in my neighborhood-only wrought iron or chain link.

Have been raising a couple of plants with some success but this year they look pretty scrawny and are almost inedible. Must be doing something wrong. I am in California and not too far from San Francisco but with a little warmer weather.

Almost all of my tomatoes have cracked and are getting close to ripening, can I eat them? Most of the cracks are at the top near the stem (like a circle around the tomato) but some have vertical cracks at the stem. This is a first time garden, and I am a first time gardener, and the plants show no signs of disease, so I am very curious. I have also noticed on another tomato plant blotchiness is this okay?
I have cut open the tomatoes that have ripened and a few that have not and I noticed no other problems or defects. Any suggestions, advice or websites where I can view pictures of cracked tomatoes would be great.
