$.85(cents) a square foot is about average....Take the take the lenght X height of the fence and multiply that by .85 (A fence 4'h X 180'L will be $612.00 in labor fees not including material)

A good rule of thumb is the cost of materials.
the higher the cost for parts, the more detailed\difficult the job will become.
Thats the price for new parts, not discounted or "otherwise acquired" costs

charge him any amount you want if he is your friend! if he feels it is too much he will probably go with a commercial installer that is not his friend but getting a better deal overall. hope this satisfies your curiousity. good luck with install.
