The best way to learn what you need to know for your own business is to work for someone else's business. This way, you get to see and learn without having the pressure of being responsible for everything. Once you have been there a little while and have proven that you are a good worker, let the business owner know that you would like to learn more about the business side.
This is where most landscapers fail -- they can be great at the technical side of landscaping, but fall short on the administrative side. Dealing with employees, taxes, licensing, insurance, workers comp -- these things are necessary to the running of the business, and they require a lot of time and effort that doesn't actually make the business any money.
You don't have to be the one to do everything in your business. You can hire a good administrator/bookkeeper, but remember that you will be the one who is ultimately responsible for making the business a success.
