when should it need to mow my grass

Depend on how tall you like it. Most grass experts recommend the "hippie" cut which is about 2 inches tall. this helps shade the ground a conserves water. this is usually about once a week. Just set your lawnmower to the proper height. Just do not let grow over 3" as will work your lawnmower too hard.

Depends on the type of grass you have. You always want to maintain your grass at the recommended mowing height. If you cut your grass too short or remove more than 1/3 of the leaf tissue in a single mowing, you are going to stress your turf and problems could arise from this.

You can contact your local University turf program and they should be able to tell you, depending on what grass type you have.

Just never remove more than 1/3 of the leaf tissue when mowing!!

cut an inch off when it reaches 4", and always remember not to cut it in the same direction every time. Cut it alternately on the diagonal, this is what the professional landscapers do
