I can also hear the knocking in my neighbor's water meter when the sprinker is on.
Water system people were here in the daytime and can not see anything wrong. We can only turn on sprinker after 8 PM. They told me that neighbor' meter has been replaced and wish me luck.

we have a 7 foot wood fence around our back yard, and on the side that our neighbor lives, they said to us when we bought the house that is was theres and they let the previous owners of our home put there fence joining theres. Now I had a rose bush planted and it had went through the fence cracks just a little bit, they sprayed the bush and it died...I ask them about it and he yelled at me telling me to stay the **** away from his fence. Now I want to have it survey'd to see if it might be on my side a bit too? any ideas of how I can do this on my own? Thanks for any ideas!!

This is my first houseplant. I was calling it an Ivy but I looked up "Ivy Care" and it doesn't look like that. I clicked on a picture that looked like my houseplant and I think it is a Philodendron. I have seen plants like mine growing in vases of water (the ones with the Beta Fish) , but I tried to snip some of mine off and when I put it in water it died. What is the deal?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to best deal with out of control devil’s grass/crab grass, WITHOUT using too much toxic chemicals, and without destroying some really good soil? I am trying to avoid using Roundup, but I’m losing my resolve since these weeds keep coming back. Any ideas on organic alternatives or natural ways to deal with it, or do I have to bite the bullet and go chemical? The soil is really good, 50+ years of leaves adding to the mulch, and I don’t want to kill all those nice microorganisms and decaying matter. I have dug down 8-10 inches and removed all the root I could get, very very thoroughly. Someone suggested I use plastic “WeedBlock” sheeting and put real dirt on top. But what if weeds grow in that real dirt, they put down roots to or through the plastic, and I have to use gardening tools to get them out? Seems hard to prevent tears. Any input and ideas are appreciated!

I am going on vacation for two weeks. I have not cut the grass in a week. The weather is expected to be dry and very sunny for those two weeks. I do not have an automatic sprinkler system.

I am wondering if I should not cut the grass to see if the length will protect it from the punishing sun.

Any advice?
