You can get flowering crabapples almost anywhere. Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot, local nursery. These trees grow fast and are covered with beautiful blooms for nearly a month in the spring. The fruit is a tiny perfectly shaped apple. Some people make preserves out of them, but they are very tart -- need lots of sugar. Other folks leave them for the birds.
The Russian Olive is another good choice. It flowers in early spring, and the smell is heavenly. You can smell it blocks away from the tree. You can also cut off a limb and bring it inside to chase away the winter must and freshen your home. This tree has a very small fruit that is extremely bitter. It will turn an attractive bright red, and the birds love it.
I think the Cleveland Pear also bears a tiny pear shaped fruit. I don't know much about this tree, other than the fact that it bears a miniature fruit.

Go to a local specialty nursery, not Home Depot.

we bought ours from http://www.gurneys.com and also saw them in the Jung Seed catalog. I am not sure how long they are selling them for because we ordered ours in spring and they are thriving and growing like crazy. i did see the mini orange plants in Lowe's when I was there in early spring. good luck finding some.
