I know it's not the season yet, but I just went out there to put more stuff in it and found more nests in it, I doubt it could be air sealed, so is there somthing I could throw around that they don't like? Once spring comes I want to know what to do.

I just bought a house with a fireplace. I heard that you can buy special logs to burn that will clean your chimney out. Anyone ever try them? Or is it just better to have someone come clean it for you? Or is it something you can DIY? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx in advance.

My husband and I share a tiny rectangular closet. One short wall and one longer wall have a pole each for hanging clothes. Besides that , it only has two built-in shelves above each pole. We are running out of space, even with the use of dressers. Any creative suggestions or know of any organization gadgets that we must have.

Alcove is 100cm, shelves are 120cm.
What is the best way to cut them to size without chipping the veneer.
Can you fit the brackets slightly offset or centrally ie take 10 cm off each end or take 20cm off one end

...Apparently they are all the rage up North. But i cant find anyone who sells them. It also has to be portable with a free Huskie and a sea lion that speaks Eskimoian. Surely, somewhere has to sell them! If all else fails, then i'll just settle for some sticky back plastic and make one myself like they do on Blue Peter.

I have non-holed pegboard (board) that needs to be secured to a stud wall. What is the bethod method?

Staple gun? (non pneumatic)

I dont' have a pneumatic one... can I nail it to the stud wall? Or will split the 2x4s? I can't split them, there is a wall on the otherside that I can't damage.

Hi,
I've just moved into my first home and as I'm on a tight budget I'm refurbing the kitchen rather than fitting a new on. The worktops are in average condition and not too ugly a colour so I'd like to save money by keeping them...

However behind the sink the worktop wasn't sealed properly and water has rotted the wood slightly. The sink is about 1cm from the tile and the rot patch is about 8cm long. I looked at the worktop from underneath and the damp rot doesn't penetrate too deep.

Is there any way to seal the rotten section and the apply new kitchen sealant in the area?

How do you fix this?

2007-01-11 06:57:32 · 6 answers · asked by Anonymous

I guess I just created a chemistry project in my kitchen .....creating a sweet treat that called for melted chocolate.
So then I took a small saucepot which's lower half is coated (note, not solid as you can see from the inside of the pot) with copper.
The big water boiler I put it in is made out of some iron, heavy duty pot I got at Smart'n'Final a long time ago
After the chocolate melted I'm looking at the bigger pot and see nice dark discoloring ......

some chemical reaction going on I guess .....question though, do I have to be worried and evacuate the apartment now with maybe
any toxic fumes in the air (don't smell anything) and also hope my chocolate isn't effected by that ? ;)

Can I add a water softener to the iron piping that feeds and returns water to my homes hot water boiler? I suspect there is scaling inside the pipes and also wonder if this would help at all,

Thanks

I can't figure out why it's like this or how i can make the ground just be a ground and have power going through my black and white wires. thanks!
