My ex had the same situation - he cut equal amounts off each end because from memory the holes for the wall attachments are pre-drilled and it looked better to have the wall attachments central and equal distance apart.
He used a fine jigsaw to cut the ends without damaging the laminate.
Good luck!

RE:
IKEA LACk floating shelves: Cutting to Fit?
Alcove is 100cm, shelves are 120cm.
What is the best way to cut them to size without chipping the veneer.
Can you fit the brackets slightly offset or centrally ie take 10 cm off each end or take 20cm off one end

Hi there, these shelves can only be mounted onto the fixing bracket. which locates into fixing holes at the rear of the shelf, to cut the shelf material its advisable to use a fine tooth saw, which wll lesson the chance of damage to the veneer. To make it easy on yourself id adjust the with of the shelves by a single cut, and then offset the mounting bracket..
When fixing the bracket to the wall,, insure that you use the correct sized screw and plugs also insuring that you use has many of the fixing holes you can.

Defo put masking tape or even better electricians tape over the cut line pull it tight this stops the vaneer moving with the saw and reduces the chances of the vaneer splitting

yup a fine tooth saw rather than a harsh jigsaw or wood saw.
however, put masking tape over the cut line and this will help avoid chipping even more - a well-acknowledged tip!
