I have a 240v oven and it is rated at 11.5kw. I know that Wattage = amps * voltage. In an instance when a two phase circuit is used, such in the case with an oven, do you divide in half since each hot bar is producing 40 amps (40 amp breaker used in this case)?

Our fixer-upper house has a nice Kohler tub that is deep and wide and 6' long.

The tub sits inside a greenboard-clad frame, its rim resting on a small tub surround. There is no tile on this surround, the walls, or on the sides greenboard cabinet that hides the tub and that the rim rests on. Wanna tile it, but...

The 6' tub is in a space that is 5'11.5" inches or so. Because of plumbing in the walls and the location of the studs at both ends of the tub, and because of the location of the toilet, our contractor says the tub cannot fit other than in the condition we found it.

Right now, a bit of the oval rim of the tub both at the faucet side and the opposite side pierces through the dry wall. These entries into the drywall are currently caulked.
Can we do anything besides cut tile the shape of this tub's rim, affixing it across the places the tub enters the wall and recaulking?
We bought porcelain tile 18" rectangles. Are tiny glass tiles a better bet? Or another choice?

I'm thinking of the color scheme of a chocolate milkshake.
chocolate brown, whipped cream white, and cherry red.
Wood floors, a white shag rug, a small wood table with different sized red candles, a wood sleigh bed, white walls decorated with pictures and cherries and such, and then on the bed a bunch of red and brown pillows, with a big white comforter and a red throw. I wanted something clean and modern, yet still warm and cozy. Is it a cute idea?

My husband is refinishing our cabinets by himself and when we removed the old knobs from the doors on the cabinets it left like a diamond shaped mark on the doors. He has sanded and sanded and he can't get rid of them. We want to put new handles on but don't want to see the mark the old ones left behind. Is there any way to get rid of those marks?

using argon/ CO2 mix but I am not sure what its purpose is. I know if I don't have it, the welds look bad, but I don't understand why it helps.

I have big windows and i am looking to redecorate. I have many windows in my home so i was thinking of trying to make my curtains myself. I priced some curtains i like but they were $49.99 each and i would need 2 panels on each window and i have 9 windows to cover..could get pricey. I want something cute like not cheap looking but easy to make. Any suggestions? Should i go with just flat curtains or should i have 2 flat panels with the sheer behind it and the valance layover? LOL i don't have many people over my house because i am redoing it so i would like it to be eye friendly and not ugly. Thank you for any help!!

We purchased a six seater wooden table from Ethan Allen. It is made of farmer pine. I am not sure of the original finish, whether it is varnish or eurethane. Last year i had cleaned it with murphys oil soap--BIG mistake. Now the table is gummy and when i run my finger nail over the top of it i can scrape off whatever it is making the table gummy. Should refinish it by sanding the whole table down and putting a poly eurethane on it or should i strip it with the proper chemical and then putting the eurethane on??? also what is the best product to use??? Thanks for your help. Ohh yea i got a bid for someone else to do it for round 400$ Is THIS the better option?? Thanks again!!

Our new house came with a very large wooden shed. It's taller than the garage and is 6 x 8. It was built before the garage, and because of the placement of the two, you have to squeeze around the shed to get to the other half of the backyard.

We'd like to move the shed to the back of the yard, rather than in the middle almost against the garage. Can a shed that big be moved? How would it be moved?

It is suffering some wood rot. I could tear it down and put up an inexpensive metal shed in the back of the yard. But I don't know how to tear apart the shed without damaging the garage.
