Hi, do you have the lock already? There is usually very specific instructions that vary with manufacturer. I am assuming that you are talking about a mag door lock. If you have this item you should have at least a part number , manufacturer name that you could search on the internet. If you don't have one yet you can call a locksmith/lock distributor, or search one out on the internet.

I am assumming you mean a "tot-loc" which is available at home-improvement stores and required by state law in some states for day care and foster homes. These can be challenging indeed. I have had to install many for aforementioned parties. It is not as difficult as you may initially think. Use the instructions and templates that come with the packaging. When all else fails, install the piece that has the magnet first (on drawer or door) and then position the other lightly to make sure they align. It is easier to move the smaller piece that goes on the frame than the one on the door. Do not get confused and think you need to drill holes in your cabinets. Everything goes on the inside and is completely hidden from outside the cabinet.

you'll have to get the instructions from the manufacturer if you don't have them in the box due to there being several types - AC, DC, AC with DC overlay, etc.
