I had a board laying on the floor that I had coated in poly...the dog walked across it ...then jumped on my leather sofa. He left pupppy tracks of poly on the sofa. I'm scared to put anything on it that might change the color of the leather. It is dark brown. Any one know of any tried and true methods?

Need to strip heavy wax from tile floors. Military housing is great for wax building.

I have a steamer truck filled with various fabrics (mostly silks and wools) that had been stored for at least 10 years in what seems to be 2 lbs of moth balls. I get dizzy opening this trunk. These are bolts of fabric (not outfits) and I cannot wash them. What can I do to get the smell off without fading them (by putting them on the clothes line) or staining them by using Fabreeze? I don't want to throw this out. This is over 60 yards of fabric!

Its an enamel bath and it's got these ground in old soap scummy stains. We have tried using washing powder with enzymes and left it to soak overnight but that didn't work. Does anyone have any hints tips they could give us, as our landlady is too tight to buy us another one!! Bear in mind we live in the UK, so can only get UK products.

I was wondering where the smell was coming from last night, went to reheat some food today and discovered the source, cleaned it with soapy water but there is the smell. Is there something that I can put in the microwave to take the smell away?

Someone just told me that she washes her bed sheets weekly. I do mine when they start sticking to my back. Which is about every four months or so. Surely she's pulling my leg. The cost of washing powder must be terrible.

I clean my living room every three months or so but my toilet once every month or so. Do you think that I'm being excessive with my toilet cleaning routine?

Preferably something more natural, without all the chemicals. but also something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Or, is there an inexpensive way to make a cheap, natural dishwashing soap?

Thanks.
